The New Orleans Saints have now signed all but one player from their 2025 NFL draft class.Â
New Orleans announced Tuesday that it had signed third-round defensive lineman Vernon Broughton to his four-year rookie contract, which came on the heels of the team signing fellow third-rounder Jonas Sanker the day before.Â
That means the only unsigned player from the nine-player class is quarterback Tyler Shough, whom the Saints selected No. 40 overall. Second-round picks can sometimes take longer to negotiate, as was the case a few years ago with Alontae Taylor, who didn't sign his rookie contract until July.Â
As the No. 71 pick, Broughton's deal should net him roughly $6.6 million over four years.Â
The University of Texas product may play a diverse role for the Saints defense. While he primarily played three-technique defensive tackle for the Longhorns, the Saints lined him up at defensive end in their base 3-4 alignment during their rookie minicamp.Â
