The LSU softball teamโs series opener against Auburn on Thursday at Tiger Park has been moved to 7:45 p.m. because of a late afternoon thunderstorm with lightning, the school announced.
The game was originally set for 6 p.m. and was moved to an earlier 4 p.m. start to avoid bad weather, but the storm hit early, drenching the area.
The two teams are set to play at 6 p.m. Friday and 4 p.m. on Sunday in the final regular-season series.
No. 20 LSU (34-16, 10-11 in SEC play) and tied for eighth in the SEC standings, is battling for a spot as a regional host, carrying a No. 11 RPI rating. Auburn (25-24, 4-17) is tied for second-to-last in the conference.
