Former LSU point guard is transferring to Memphis of the American Athletic Conference, he announced on social media Tuesday.

Givens surprised some people when he picked LSU over Memphis in high school.
The 6-3 guard averaged 4.8 points, 1.6 assists and shot 26.9% in 18.2 minutes per game
The 6-foot-3 freshman from Memphis, Tennessee, averaged 4.8 points on 26.9% shooting and 1.6 assists per game. He averaged 18.2 minutes and made 12 starts. He entered the starting lineup for the first time on Jan. 11 against Ole Miss, replacing fifth-year senior Jordan Sears.
Of the seven players to leave coach Matt McMahon’s 2024-25 team, Givens was the to enter the before the window officially closed on April 22. He decided to leave after LSU announced he was returning on April 11.
Givens was the No. 65 player in the 2024 class, according to the 247Sports Composite and chose LSU over Memphis as a high school recruit.
In his final game for LSU, a 91-62 loss to Mississippi State in the Southeastern Conference Tournament, he had seven points, five rebounds, three assists and zero turnovers in 26 minutes.
Givens' most impressive game was against Missouri on Jan. 7 when he had 15 points on 5-of-13 shooting.
He was the third , joining freshman Vyctorius Miller, who is at Oklahoma State, and redshirt freshman Corey Chest, now at Ole Miss.
McMahon and his staff recruited eight new players to the team, highlighted by sophomore point guard of UNLV. LSU's only returners will be junior Jalen Reed, who only played eight games after tearing his ACL, and freshman Robert Miller.
LSU finished last season 14-18 overall and 3-15 in the SEC.Â
