Several Baton Rouge area high school baseball teams have had their Thursday playoff games postponed because of heavy rain in the area.

The quarterfinals of the playoffs began this week but the weather has affected four series taking place in the area.

In the Division I select bracket, Catholic defeated Holy Cross 3-2 on Wednesday to take a 1-0 series lead in the best-of-three series. Game 2 was scheduled for Thursday at Catholic High, but will now be played at 1 p.m. Saturday with a possible Game 3 played later Saturday.

University High and Parkview Baptist were set to begin a Division III select series Thursday at the Cub Complex. Because of rain, Game 1 will be played at 2 p.m. Saturday. Game 2 will be played at 1:30 p.m. Sunday and Game 3 will follow later Sunday if necessary.

Another series between local teams is Lutcher hosting West Feliciana in the Division II nonselect bracket. Thursday's Game 1 was postponed and there has been no update yet for when it will be played.

Doyle was set to host Kinder in Game 1 of a Division III nonselect series on Thursday before being postponed. There will be a doubleheader Saturday, starting at 2 p.m. If the series goes three games, the final game will be played at noon Sunday.

Zachary was set to host Hahnville on Thursday night before being postponed. The Broncos will now play Hahnville in Game 1 at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
