A lot of people buy kids’ Mardi Gras clothes around the holidays. What items will be available this year?
We’ll have everything from the iconic white majorette boots to metallic and sequined Mardi Gras-colored jackets, shirts and pants. We’re bringing back some favorites for the boys, like the Properly Tied Mardi Gras hats, beanies, socks, shirts and jackets. We’ll have our classic Lulu Bebe pieces – traditional Mardi Gras rugby shirts for boys and coordinating dresses for girls.
What are some trends you’ve seen in kids’ holiday clothing?
Everyone is loving the classic Christmas tartan pattern. It’s timeless and perfect for holiday photos. A lot of families want coordinating looks, so our tartan oxfords for boys and dresses for girls have been very popular. We also have matching sibling sets in baby girl and baby boy bubbles, which have been a huge hit.
Are there any brands or designers you’re excited to feature?
I’m always so impressed with our h brands, Lulu Bebe and Lullaby Set. Their quality and attention to detail are unmatched, and it’s a great feeling to support local designers. I’m really excited this year to feature Set Proper, Lullaby Set’s tween and teen line. It’s been fun to expand our sizing – we now carry up to a size 14 for both boys and girls.
What advice do you have for people trying to choose the right children’s clothing?
Stop focusing on the age on the tag. Every baby grows differently. If your baby is longer and lighter, you may need to size up to accommodate the length. It’s about finding the right balance between weight and height rather than just going by age.
