Class 3A was brimming with basketball talent from the Baton Rouge area this season, with several athletes earning LSWA all-state honors.

On the girls side, University High junior Kennedy Aldridge was named the outstanding player and earned first-team honors. She averaged 23.2 points, seven rebounds, 3.1 assists and 5.3 steals this season.

Aldridge helped the Cubs win the Division II select state title with a 27-point performance against Madison Prep. She was also named the outstanding player in the title game. This marks her second straight year being named to the LSWA all-state first team.

Madison Prep senior Auri Ray was also named to the first team. She averaged 16 points, four rebounds and two assists this year and was named District 6-3A MVP, helping the Chargers reach the Division II select state title.

Parkview Baptist senior Anna Richerson also earned first-team honors. The Loyola-New Orleans signee averaged 17 points, 5.6 assists, 5.6 rebounds and 3.7 steals this year. She was named to the first team after earning second-team honors last year.

On the boys side, Madison Prep junior Elijah Garner landed on the first team after he led the Chargers to the Division II select semifinals. Garner averaged 18 points, eight rebounds, five assists and two steals. He also earned District 6-3A MVP honors.

Donaldsonville senior Quinton Dabney was also named to the first team after he averaged 21.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.7 steals this year. He also helped his team win a district title. After being named to the second team last year, Dabney earns all-state first team recognition.

Two Baton Rouge-area athletes earned second-team honors. Parkview Baptist sophomore Kaden Irwin averaged 19 points, nine rebounds, two assists and two steals. Port Allen senior Gentry James made the second team after he averaged 27 points, eight assists and five rebounds this season.
