Stefon Diggs has been one of the NFL’s top wide receivers since being traded to the Buffalo Bills, but a rough finish to the 2023 season and another early playoff exit has his future in doubt.
Diggs started off last season strong with five games with over 100 receiving yards in the first six weeks, but he failed to record another 100-yard game after that and saw his receiving numbers decline significantly when the Bills fired offensive coordinator Ken Doresy.
The offense saw improvement under quarterbacks coach Joe Brady, who was promoted to offensive coordinator this offseason due to that success, so the Bills could explore trading Diggs.
Diggs should have a strong trade market considering he’s only 30 years old, and the current odds for his next team at DraftKings Sportsbook show several outside teams in the mix to acquire him.
The Bills are still the odds-on favorite (-300) to be the team that Diggs takes his next snap with, but the two-time defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs could be in play for his services.
The Chiefs have the best odds (+1000) to land Diggs among teams other than the Bills, as they’ll likely be in the market for wide receiver help this offseason.
Other teams that could be vying for Diggs include the New England Patriots, Houston Texans, Chicago Bears and Baltimore Ravens, who all could use wide receiver help and are currently +1200 to be his next team.
The Carolina Panthers (+1600), Dallas Cowboys (+2000) and Atlanta Falcons (+2000) also appear to be teams to watch, with the Cowboys being interesting since Diggs’ brother Trevon is a Pro Bowl cornerback there.
A Diggs trade would likely need to happen before March 18, as his 2024 salary becomes fully guaranteed on that day and would result in there being much more dead money counting against the Bills if they were to trade or release him after that.
