Organizers of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival have announced more changes to the weekend two schedule as New Orleans continues to see heavy rains and storms in the forecast.
All acts on Friday are set to end by 4:40 p.m.
Festival Stage headliner and h native Lainey Wilson's set has moved to 3:10 p.m., and both the Gentilly Stage headliner The Black Keys and Congo Square Stage headliner Ziggy Marley go on at 3 p.m.
"The Festival will run as long as weather permits," organizers said on social media.
said the New Orleans area is expected to see another bout of heavy rain Friday, especially overnight into Saturday morning. Isolated flash flooding will be possible, and 1 to 3 inches of rain could fall.
The threat of severe storms will continue through Saturday as a cold front moves through the area, forecaster Rob Frye said.
On Thursday, the festival was as a strong cell of thunderstorms approached the area, cutting off headliners Widespread Panic and Lake Street Dive. Several other acts were also canceled, including Leela James, Sweet Crude, Alejandro Escovedo, The Iceman Special and more.
Other Friday lineup changes
- Festival Stage: Rickie Lee Jones is canceled, John Foster moves to 12:30 p.m., Marc Broussard to 1:45 p.m., Lainey Wilson to 3:10 p.m. Her set time has also been shortened by 20 minutes.
- Gentilly Stage: The Skatalites move to 12:25 p.m., with Dragon Smoke at 1:40 p.m. and The Black Keys at 3 p.m. The Black Keys have 15 minutes less than originally.
- Congo Square Stage: Hot 8 Brass Band moves to 12:20 p.m., Original Koffee at 1:40 p.m., Ziggy Marley at 3 p.m. Marley's interview at the Allison Miner Music Heritage Stage is canceled.
- Fais Do-Do Stage: Bruce Daigrepont Cajun Band moves to 12:25 p.m., Beausoleil avec Michael Doucet at 1:40 p.m. and The California Honeydrops at 3:05 p.m.
- Jazz & Heritage Stage: Los Guiros at 12:35 p.m., Baby Boyz Brass Band at 1:45 p.m. and Runkus & Royal blu with Dub Squad at 3 p.m. Big Chief Juan & Jockimo's Groove's set is canceled.
- Lagniappe Stage: Gal Holiday & The Honky Tonk Revue at 12:40 p.m., The New Orleans Guitar Masters at 1:50 p.m. and Tyron Benoit Band at 3 p.m. Panorama Jazz Band's set is canceled.
- WWOZ Jazz Tent: Victor Campbell moves to 12:25 p.m., Lawrence Sieberth presents da Groove at 3:40 p.m. and Terence Blanchard and Ravi Coltrane at 3:05 p.m.
- Blues Tent: Kevin "Sonny" Gullage & Blues Groovers at 12:20 p.m., Sue Foley at 1:40 p.m. and Tab Benoit at 3:05 p.m.
- Economy Hall Tent: Charlie Gabriel and Friends at 12:30 p.m., Tribute to New Orleans Early Blues Singers featuring Jolynda "Kiki" Chapman and Thais Clark with the Lars Edegran Band at 1:45 p.m. and Gerald French & The Original Tuxedo Jazz Band at 3:05 p.m. The Pfister Sisters set is canceled.
- Gospel Tent: Morning Star Missionary Mass Choir at 12:50 p.m., Jekalyn Carr at 2 p.m. and The Johnson Extension at 3:15 p.m. Watson Memorial Teaching Ministries Mass Choir's set is canceled.
- Jamaica Cultural Exchange Pavilion: Runkus & Royal Blu with Dub Squad goes on at 12:05 p.m., Sunpie ak Vodou Blues Ayiti at 1:25 p.m. and The Skatalites at 2:45 p.m.
