Police have identified the victim of a fatal shootingย Saturday morning shooting on Gus Young Avenue that also left another person critically injured.
Tremaine Phillips Sr., 23, was found by police suffering from several gunshot wounds and died at the scene, Baton Rouge Police said.ย
Another gunshot victim, a 26-year-old man, was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.ย
Officers were called to the 4400 block of Gus Young shortly before 10 a.m., police spokesperson Lt. Don Coppola said.
The shootings happened outside the Gus Young Grocery, and temporarily shut down local roads. A body was visible in front of the store, on Saturday morning, as police investigated.ย
Police believe the two men were standing outside the business when the shootings happened.
