A Baton Rouge man became so angry after finding out he could not get his deposit back, he chased the potential landlord's truck down a street and fired a gun at him, according to a Baton Rouge Police Department report.
Police say the landlord and 36-year-old Kofi Lewis were talking in the 3400 block of Alliquipa Street about Lewis renting a house in the early evening of Jan. 12 when the incident happened.
The victim told investigators that Lewis first climbed on his car and when the victim drove away, Lewis ran through a vacant lot to catch up with him.
Then Lewis allegedly stuck a gun in the window of the car and shot once at the car as the victim drove away again, according to the report. No one was injured in the shooting, but officers noticed damage to the vehicle from the shot.
Lewis, 3438 Alliquipa St., Baton Rouge, was booked into Parish Prison on Tuesday afternoon on counts of attempted second-degree murder, illegal use of a weapon and felon in possession of a firearm.
