An Assumption Parish grand jury has charged a Donaldsonville man in the molestation of a juvenile.
Assumption sheriff's deputies arrested Terrance Dorsey, 36, on a molestation count July 10, four days after the grand jury handed up the charge, Sheriff Leland Falcon said in a statement.
Assumption sheriff's detectives have been investigating Dorsey, 33354 La. 1, on the molestation allegations ever since the victim reported in July 2016 there had been multiple incidents with Dorsey in the parish over the past several years, Falcon said.ย

Three years ago, on July 1, 2014, Dorsey's 12-year-old daughter, Talaija Dorsey, disappeared from her home in St. James Parish. Her body was found a few days later in a cane field in Vacherie, just miles from her home in the community of St. James.
St. James Parish sheriff's investigators closed in on John Celestine, now 46, who was the fiancรฉย of Talaija's mother, Emma Dorsey, and who lived with the family, after the dramatic discovery of one of Talaija's flip-flops in Celestine's Chrysler Concorde parked at the Dorsey family compound.
Talaija lived with her mother, siblings and other family, though not her father.

Celestine was charged with first-degree murder in Talaija's death. The case against him is still pending in St. James Parish.ย
On Tuesday, prosecutors said Celestine still remains the suspect in Talaija's slaying.ย
Talaija's biological father has "never been a suspect through the course of the investigation" into his daughter's death, said Tyler Cavalier, public information officer for 23rd Judicial District Attorney Ricky Babin.
"We have the guy we think is the prime suspect," Cavalier said, referring to Celestine.
Dorsey remained Tuesday in Assumption Parish Detention Center in Napoleonville, with bail set at $100,000, Falcon said.
