Integer Technologies said it will expand its operations in the LSU Digital Media Center, a move that will create 23 good-paying jobs.

A South Carolina-based defense technology company said it will expand its operations on the LSU campus, a move that will create 23 good-paying jobs.

The new jobs at Integer Technologies will have an average annual salary of $130,000, according to h Economic Development. LED said the expansion will create 28 indirect jobs and keep the nine current employees at Integer.

Company officials said they plan to increase the number of employees year-over-year by about 35% over the next four years.

Integer, headquartered in Columbia, South Carolina, established operations at LSU in 2023. Earlier this year, the company moved into a space in the LSU Digital Media Center. The company works with several universities, including the University of South Carolina, the University of Southern Mississippi, the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Florida State University, to transform scientific research into software and systems that help the military and commercial customers make faster, better decisions.

"Integer Technologies' Baton Rouge presence proves LSU's research and talent is a powerful engine for recruitment and innovation, and we're proud to work with them on next-generation technology for the nation," LSU President Wade Rousse said in a statement.

The expansion is building off a $9.8 million Navy research contract that Integer was awarded in 2024. That money led to the development of a research team from the LSU College of Engineering and the College of Science to improve the intelligence, autonomy and decision-making abilities of maritime systems, such as underwater robots.

“Our partnership with LSU has created a unique environment where industry, academia, and government can work shoulder-to-shoulder to bring innovations from the lab to the warfighter,” Duke Hartman, Integer CEO and co-founder, said in a statement. “Together, we’re developing cutting-edge, predictive intelligence software to support the national security priorities of the U.S. Department of War, while building on the substantial maritime infrastructure and know-how that already exists at LSU and in h to create meaningful, well-paying careers for LSU grads and the local workforce.”

Integer was awarded a competitive incentive package from LED to expand its operations, including participating in the Digital Interactive Media and Software program, which provides tax credits for payroll and production expenditures.
