Greenwood Plantation, one of the stops on the Audubon Pilgrimage Tour. It is called the finest Greek Revival home in the South, was built in 1830, nearly 100 feet square and surrounded by 28 enormous Doric columns of brick. It was meticulously rebuilt after a devastating 1960 fire which left only the columns and chimneys.

St. Francisville-based ถถา๕h Hospitality Group, which operates The St. Francisville Inn, has partnered with Greenwood Plantation.

, a 200-acre estate at 6838 Highland Road in St. Francisville, is privately owned. The property closed to weddings and corporate events in 2022. However, under a new partnership,ย LHG will oversee the plantation's lodgings, bed-and-breakfast, weddings and corporate events starting July 1.ย

The plantation will remain the same, according to LHG managing partner Jim Johnston.

Greenwood Oak Alley

The Oak Alley at Greenwood Plantation in the Feliciana Hill Country is the perfect setting for weddings, according to LHG managing partner Jim Johnston.ย

"Greenwood is one of the most beautiful spots in the country," Johnston said. "There are 200-year-old oaks, an oak alley, that people can get married under."

The hospitality is ready to begin booking events at the plantation. Potential guests are invited to call (225) 635-6502 for more information.

Nestled in the pocket of Feliciana hill country, Greenwood was originally a 3,000-acre cotton plantation built in 1830 by William Ruffin Barrow. In 1960, the original house burned down, leaving behind the columns and front steps.

The plantation has been featured in movies including โ€œถถา๕h,โ€ โ€œNorth & South,โ€ โ€œGI Joe II,โ€ and โ€œJeepers Creepers III.โ€ It is open for tours on Saturdays and Sundays by appointment. Tickets for non-guests are $20.
