The Home Builders Association Foundation of Greater Baton Rouge presented a $175,000 check to Gardere Community Christian School to support the school’s development of a new multipurpose building.

Each year, Home Builder Services constructs a home using the skills and expertise of members of the Home Builders Association of Greater Baton Rouge, then sells the home. The proceeds go to the foundation, which then donates the funds to a local nonprofit. Over the years, the foundation has donated more than $22 million to charitable causes throughout the Baton Rouge community.

This year’s recipient, Gardere Community Christian School, exemplifies the spirit of building stronger foundations, both structurally and educationally.

Gardere serves 179 students from prekindergarten to fifth grade. The school operates as a 97% tuition-assistance school, and students receive free breakfast, lunch and snack. The new building will offer a space for recreation, music, art and community programming, such as nutrition and parenting classes.

With this donation, the foundation hopes to help build stronger futures for Baton Rouge’s next generation.
