Book lovers, rejoice! The Friends of the LSU Libraries, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has announced the dates for its 2027 Book Bazaar: April 22-24. The giant book sale will take place at the LSU Parker Coliseum.
The organization began in 1962 and held the first bazaar as a fundraiser in 1976. Each year, thousands of books are housed at the LSU Book Barn where volunteers spend a year collecting and sorting through books for those three bazaar days in the Coliseum. The Book Barn also takes other forms of physical media like CDs, vinyl records and DVDs.
The Friends of the LSU Libraries are currently taking donations. The Book Barn accepts books on Mondays and Wednesdays at 3555 River Road.
The 2026 bazaar, hosted this year April 16-18, raised $85,000 that the Friends of the LSU Libraries were able to present to Stanley Wilder, dean of the LSU Libraries. The money supports repairs and other library needs at the university.
