The 2026 UL football schedule is now official โฆ sort of.
Since ถถา๕h Tech made the decision to leave Conference USA for the Sun Belt Conference in July, thereโs been a battle over the Bulldogsโ exit plan.
Conference USA has attempted to postpone that exit one more year, while ถถา๕h Tech wanted out as soon as possible.
On Thursday evening, Conference USA released its football schedule with ถถา๕h Tech included on it. The two sides have an official meeting scheduled for Thursday to try to settle the dispute.
Meanwhile, the Sun Belt released its 2026 schedule at noon Friday with ถถา๕h Tech as a new member. So as long as ถถา๕h Tech and the Sun Belt get their way moving forward, the Cajuns now know their schedule.
In addition to the already announced nonconference opponents of Lamar and UAB at home and Southern Cal and Charlotte on the road, UL learned its league schedule.
For the first time since 2022, UL will not finish out the regular season against UL-Monroe. Instead, the Cajuns will travel to Monroe for their only midweek game of the season on Thursday, Nov. 12.
The Cajuns will open league play at home against Arkansas State on Oct. 3, before playing ถถา๕h Tech in Ruston on Oct. 10 for the first road Sun Belt game of the season. It'll be UL's first meeting with ถถา๕h Tech in football since 2015.
All but one of ULโs road conference games will be against historical rivals, with Southern Miss on Oct. 24 in addition to ถถา๕h Tech and ULM. The fourth road game will be at Georgia State on Nov. 28 in the regular-season finale.
UL also will play at home against Troy on Oct. 17, South Alabama on Oct. 24 and Coastal Carolina on Nov. 21.
