The First National Bank of Jeanerette will open an office in Broussard, city officials announced Tuesday.
The bank will open at 751 N. Morgan Ave. in what is its latest move into the Lafayette market. Bank officials bought the 1.25-acre lot from the Smith family last year.
Bank officials earlier this month purchased an office building at 309 Rue La France and the adjoining 3.7 acres for a total price of just under $4 million, land records show.
A bank spokesman declined to discuss the matter.
The bank opened a Youngsville branch earlier this month at 1930 Chemin Metairie Parkway.
The First National Bank of Jeanerette also has locations along Camellia Boulevard in Lafayette and another in Scott along with others in Iberia and St. Mary parishes.
